Account Closing/Deletion Policy

We understand that you may wish to close your account with MeghnaPay- the Mobile Financial Service of Meghna Bank. Below are the guidelines and procedures for account Closing:

  1. Requesting Account Closing:
    • To request the Closing of your account, please contact our customer support team at supportmeghnapay@meghnabank.com.bd
    • Your request must be made from the email address associated with your account to verify the ownership of MeghnaPay Account.
  2. Verification Process:
    • For security purposes, we may ask you to provide additional information to further verify your identity before processing the submitted account Closing request.
    • This may include confirming details such as your Full Name, MeghnaPay Account Number, NID Number, Date of Birth and any other relevant account information.
  3. Effect of Account Closing:
    • Once your account closing request is processed, you will not be able to access MeghnaPay App and perform any transaction. After you close your account, Bank will mark your account status as 'Closed' and keep your information in our database for future reference & data submission to Regulatory Authority Bangladesh Bank.
  4. Retention of Certain Information:
    • Please note that Bank may retain certain information after account deletion as required or permitted by law, such as for tax or regulatory purposes and Bangladesh Bank reporting.
  5. Confirmation of Closing:
    • Upon successful closing of your account, you will receive a confirmation SMS to your MeghnaPay Account Number.
  6. Reactivation Policy:
    • If you decide to use MeghnaPay services again in the future, you will need to create a new account by following Account Opening procedure of MeghnaPay.
